I went to see the new Wolverine movie on Saturday. Personally to me I found it to be better than the original X-Men trilogy series. I have wanted to see Gambit in all three of the original releases but he was not in them. So, I was very stoked on this release! But I was a bit disappointed when I saw the film and only got to see Gambit for about 10-15 minutes tops! That to me was a let down. Now I know the movie is about Wolverine and not about Gambit, but still I thought he would have a bigger part in the film. I was also hoping to see a lot more of Deadpool. I liked the Deadpool at the beginning of the movie probably more than the Deadpool at the end. For one thing Deadpool doesn't have swords that come out of his hands like they depicted in the movie. He also does not have Scott's ability to use laser vision either. And what was with the mouth being sealed shut? That had nothing to do with Deadpool at all. Deadpool was more like the begininng of the film with whitty sarcasm much like Spider-Man. But overall the stunts were pretty sweet as were a lot of the action scenes. I liked the early pre-Adimantium Wolverine too. I felt this was a great backstory of the character with Sabertooth included. The love interest Wolverine had was a great additive to show Wolverines struggle to become who he became. The trailers were slightly deceiving as stated above with seeing other new characters. To me the trailers made the viewer believe we were going to see a lot more out of other characters in the film as well, which wasn't completely so. All in all the movie was good. Still not up to par with last years Dark Knight, Iron Man, Hulk, or Hellboy for me. But was definitely worth going to see!

Good review! And I agree. I especially liked your comparison with Wolv. and past comic movies Dark Knight, Ironman, Hulk, and Hellboy. You're right: Wolverine, though good, didn't exactly capture my attention like The Dark Knight or Hulk.
Still, it was good and worth the price of admission. It's a good thing Wolverine came out the week before Star Trek. I predict it will break all records perviously set by any movie in history. Let's see if I'm right.
I have a hard time believing that Star Trek will be Dark Nights $1 billion dollar record. And I doubt it will beat Titanic's record that is still even more than Dark Knight. I know it will be big though. It's just there are a lot of people who are not as into Star Trek that are into more comic movies. Take Jennie. She saw Dark Knight twice with me but won't go see Star Trek. Also Dark Knight got a lot of it's popularity through Ledger's death. We shall see though. And my defending Dark Knight is not just because it's Batman. It's just a billion dollars is huge to beat. Only like 3 or 5 movies has done that.
Yeah, you've brought up some good points. It didn't occur to me that girls / women would not be willing to go see Star Trek but would go see Dark Knight. I hadn't considered that. You're probably right.
